To date 79 distinct requests have been made for that page, <em>all<\/em> via search engines looking for the words <cite>smoking<\/cite> and <cite>singing<\/cite>, and none have elicited a response, let alone a venomous one like his.<\/p>\n\n<p>(The question&#8211;why do singers perform at venues that cause them harm&#8211;is a valid one, according to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ivillagehealth.com\/print\/0,11301,152842,00.html\" title=\"Did Smoking Damage Singer's Voice?\">Dr. Douglas Hoffman<\/a>, yet I&#8217;ve still to receive an answer.  Financial need is the only explanation I can come up with.)<\/p>\n\n<p>Given his witty rebuttal to my question, John seems to me to be <cite>an individual who&#8230; posts specious arguments, flames or personal attacks to a newsgroup, discussion list, or in email for no other purpose than to annoy someone or disrupt a discussion<\/cite>.  There&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.catb.org\/~esr\/jargon\/html\/entry\/troll.html\">a word<\/a> for such behaviour, and it&#8217;s generally recommended that one <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cafeshops.com\/cp\/store.aspx?s=dnftt\">doesn&#8217;t feed<\/a> his sort.<\/p>\n\n<p>Congratulations, John.  You&#8217;ve wasted five minutes of my life.
