I thought I was a novelty-music nut, but <cite>Otis Fodder<\/cite> puts my tiny little collection to shame.<\/p>\n\n<p>Pre-doctorate <a href=\"http:\/\/orpheus.ucsd.edu\/speccoll\/dsads\/index.shtml\">Theodore Geisel artwork<\/a> (via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kottke.org\/03\/01\/030107links_for_yo.html\">kottke.org<\/a>) is somehow an appropriate complement.  Seeing Dr. Seuss&#8217;s weird characters and unique text styling in advertisements is very odd&#8230; especially because a lot of them were done before the books.  Reminds me that I need to look for <cite>Thomas Fensch<\/cite>&#8216;s books <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0786403888\/ref=nosim\"><cite>Of Sneetches and Whos and the Good Dr. Seuss: Essays on the Writings and Life of Theodor Geisel<\/cite><\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0930751116\/ref=nosim\"><cite>The Man Who Was Dr. Seuss<\/cite><\/a> (featured on <cite>CBC<\/cite>&#8216;s <a href=\"http:\/\/cbc.ca\/insite\/THE_SUNDAY_EDITION\/2002\/12\/22.html\"><cite>The Sunday Edition<\/cite><\/a>).<\/p><\/div><div class=\"syndication-links\"><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Perhaps it&#8217;s just from lack of sleep, but the collection of music at 365 days (via glish.com) has got to be the funniest, most disturbing set of things I&#8217;ve heard in a long time.
