{"id":304,"date":"2003-11-30T03:28:51-05:00","date_gmt":"2003-11-30T11:28:51+00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/peterjanes.ca\/wordpress\/?p=304"},"modified":"2003-11-30T03:28:51-05:00","modified_gmt":"2003-11-30T11:28:51+00:00","slug":"wow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/peterjanes.ca\/blog\/2003\/11\/30\/wow\/","title":{"rendered":"Wow&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class='e-content'><p>Two coincident occurrences I just became aware of: my <a href=\"http:\/\/peterjanes.ca\/blog\/archives\/2003\/11\/19\/lure-of-the-sirens\">previous post<\/a> about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sirens3.com\/\">the redesigned Sirens website<\/a> going live was my 300th, and since the redesign the site itself has risen from the 14th hit to the 10th&#8211;the coveted first page of results&#8211;in a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=sirens\">Google search for Sirens<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p>Inexplicably, in the same time period it&#8217;s dropped from the 48th hit to the 123rd in a similar <a href=\"http:\/\/search.msn.com\/results.aspx?ps=&amp;q=sirens&amp;ck_sc=1&amp;ck_af=0\">search on MSN<\/a> despite being more standards compliant and well-linked internally (i.e. being <em>more search engine-friendly<\/em>).
