In no particular order, several things that have made the last few days good:
- Susan Orlean’s The Orchid Thief is an excellent book, and I think I’m enjoying it even more than the movie.
- Jessie (not that one, but there’s a funny story) is as nice in person as she is in e-mail.
- Ladysmith Black Mambazo are even better live than they are on CD.
- Even Walkingbirds’ castoffs are excellent.
- Thinking Putty is way more fun than it has any right to be.
- Kurt Swinghammer’s Vostok 6 and Pink Martini’s Sympathique and Nick Buzz’s Circo are totally different, and totally engrossing.
- Real Roasted Soys are mighty tasty. So is SoyNut Butter.
- Not only a new to-do list but also a new true-blue Story of The Third Floor.
