I recently received email at work from Repharm, offering me a variety of contact lists, with on average 10 executive contacts per organization
, thinking that I might be interested in acquiring your competitors’ customer lists
. Since Marg Moore was so kind as to introduce the company to me on behalf of Michael Gordon (and don’t forget Dianne Edwards), I thought I’d do them a favour and pass on the company’s info to all of you so you can take advantage of their services.
$ whois repharm.net [...] gordon, michael repharm@sympatico.ca[...] 905-728-6708 Fax: 905-436-6495
In case you can’t get email to that address for some reason, try rti@look.ca or Repharm1@aol.com or repharmtechinc@yahoo.com or repharm419@sympatico.ca or lrepharm@sympatico.ca or repharmtechnologies2@yahoo.com or repharmtechnologies20@yahoo.com too, or call 905-721-8456 or send a fax to 905-721-1471. And be sure to visit their websites at repharm.net and repharm.com too. I know they’re waiting to take your call.
Thank you in advance for your consideration, and we look forward to hearing from you.
You’re kidding, right? These are the biggest spammers and scammers in the list business. Margie and Michael are the SAME Person. LOL
Yeah, I figured they were pseudonyms; I just found it very interesting (read: stupid) to discover a whois record that has a valid address and phone numbers.
As to your implication that it’s common knowledge that Repharm is scuzzy: When I looked around in January there was very little around on the company to indicate that. Looks like a lot more of their spam has been indexed by search engines in the last eleven months, but there’s almost nothing in the first several hundred Google hits (past this post, which is currently ranked second) to actually call them out.
Paul Wouters appears on the first page, since he has one of their messages in his collection, but there’s nothing there to suggest his copy is part of anything more than another mailing list archive unless you fiddle with the URL, something most people won’t do.
RUN! RUN! RUN! Away from these sleezebags! I spent a couple grand to get a targeted list of companies for a competitive product. What I got was a data dump of businesses, and absolutely NO filtering for what I needed. I could have gotten the info from our D&B system for no additional money, but they promised to segment businesses for us.
I contacted Mike Gordon and for the first two months he promised to get back to me. Then he just ignored me. Meanwhile our very expensive advertising and direct mail campaign, based on telemarketers following up, was in shambles and we lost tens of thousands of dollars!
Tried contacting other people at Repharm and believe Marge doesn’t exist. I think it’s just another email address. This guy is ugly and vindictive to deal with, and I walked away from it all looking like an idiot for wasting a couple grand of our precious resources.
WARNING, Mike Gordon will pull every trick in the book to remove bad comments from your websites. He’ll contact your ISP, your board of directors, your registrar, whomever he can. I spent as much time cleaning up after the crap he dumped all over me.
You’re right. They are the most unreliable in the lists business. We purchased ORCL, PSFT and SEBL customers lists from them way back in 2005 after checking the samples but the data was so inaccurate.
And when we would try to get in touch with them on their office phones, it woud always get redirected to voicemail.
