You ask, I tell:
- 4-7 movies, usually automatic suggestions; currently Witness for the Prosecution, Caché, Akeelah and the Bee, 2046, Love in the Afternoon (1957), Stage Door, Bringing Up Baby
- Season 3 of Slings and Arrows
- A couple of episodes of Iron Chef and Iron Chef America
- 15-20 episodes of Good Eats
- Various clips of shows, e.g. Colin Mochrie’s self-referential appearance on Corner Gas and Stephen Colbert trash-talking the Sarnia Sting (
Hey Sarnia: you suck, and so does Sting!
)
There’s a reason I don’t have many series on there: although I record a lot of episodes, I tend to watch and delete them within a couple of days. But in the interest of completeness, here’s my list of scheduled programs, in no particular order:
- The 4400
- Good Eats
- Family Guy
- Smallville
- Prison Break
- House
- Venture
- Rick Mercer Report
- Gilmore Girls
- Corner Gas
- The Unit
- Veronica Mars
- Las Vegas
- Extras
- Ed
- Eureka
- CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
- Doctor Who
- Lost
- Just for Laughs
- Ed’s Up
- 30 Rock
- Futurama
- The National
- The Simpsons
- Little Mosque on the Prairie
- Iron Chef America
- Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
- The Daily Show With Jon Stewart

- The Jane Show
Wow that’s a lot of shows. As for the movies, Cache is great and terrible at the same time (you’ll completely get why if you watch it). I have Akeelah ziplisted, and 2046 I heard was good but I don’t typically like Chinese movies. My biggest peeve is probably Jet Li, so at least he’s not in that one.
Yeah, it’s a long list now that I see it all in one place… the scary thing is that I’ve trimmed it down! My saving grace has been that most of the Canadian shows have reduced seasons; it’s also annoying, though, since those are some of my favourites. Intelligence just finished its eight-episode season, Jane has been off the air since it ended its 13-episode season last year, Rick Mercer finishes up in about a month, Venture hasn’t started yet, Marketplace just started its season a couple of weeks ago, and Ed’s Up ended last week.
As for the rest, it’s amazing what commercial skip, playback speed multipliers and fast-forward can do. 🙂
Hey – where’s Love Monkey???
On DVD… there won’t be any new episodes, so I’ve removed it from the recording schedule.
No new episodes? :'( I was just starting to get into it… shocking to me because it’s a …gasp… MuchMusic (or is it MTV?) show!
Neither: three episodes aired on CBS before they cancelled it, then the remainder were aired on VH1.
